Detecting variability: A study on the application of bayesian multilevel modelling to archaeological data. Evidence from the Neolithic Adriatic and the Bronze Age Aegean

The detection and interpretation of variability in archaeological data has been a long-standing effort the field. This paper aims to introduce application Bayesian multilevel modelling as tool for at levels within nested data. Model structure, ways construction, potential using information enhance interpretations is presented. demonstrated through analysis two case study datasets: Neolithic pottery finds from Mala (Nova) Pećina cave excavations Croatia stone Bronze Age site Akrotiri, Thera, Greece. followed by discussion model results possible that can be derived them. Finally, propositions are made on how these other models extended.
